Old Worm Tea

A few years ago (I think like 3-4 years) I bought some bottled worm tea from a company I think named Terracycle. I have not opened the bottle and was wondering if it will still be good to use? Also anyone care to share their success stories or failures with worm castings/worm tea?

RE: Old Worm Tea

Everything I have read about Compost Tea, Manure Tea, and worm castings tea says it should be used in a very short time as it tends to quickly become anaerobic which allows disease pathogens to develop. I would not use any bottled tea of that type because you would have no idea how long it has been bottled and what kind of pathogens may be in it. I might pour a bottle of that kind of tea on my compost pile, but that would be as far as I would go.

Anaerobic microbes will only turn into plant food in an aerobic environment. I wouldn't let it touch living plant tissue, but should be fine in the soil or compost pile. It is only OM and will always be breaking down, unless packaged like canned beans. :)
