Where to buy organic strawberry plants

Does anyone have a good source for organic strawberry plants? I know I probably won't be able to order until early next year, but I am having trouble finding anyone selling these. I will need about 25 plants. Also, what's your favorite variety for TASTE? Thanks!

Does "Seeds of Change" sell them earlier in the season? They're not on their website now, but you could probably contact them to ask if they have them in the early spring?

Peaceful Valley sells them, too...

There is a directory of suppliers of strawberry plants that is maintained on StrawberryPlants.org. Not all of the suppliers sell organic ones, but there are a handful listed in the directory that do and are noted (they don't sell any plants themselves). You can access the directory directly here: Strawberry Plants for Sale. Hope that helps!

Seed of Change and Mountain valley Growers are the only truly certified organic crown sources in the country as Pranther Ranch in California stopped producing them because there were not enough buyers. Unfortunatly, so-called organic growers can purchase conventional crowns and grow them as organic, allowable by certifing agencies. Just like you can get around purchasing organic seed and using conventional because they are not "available or not enough quantity". Just like "free range, excess to outdoors", too many loopholes in the system. We need to change the system.

RE: Where to buy organic strawberry plants

We have several local sources for organic strawberry plants here in San Diego, but we do ship out of area as well (depending on the heat!). Karma's Garden specializes in growing culinary organic plants, but our supply is limited because we focus on quality over quantity. We also love to search out and find organic plants from our network of San Diego local farmers. Let us know if we can help!
