viruses, insects, bacteria, oh my

Hello all! I would love some expertise in diagnosing some of my beginner gardening woes!

Here are some of my cucumber leaves...this doesn't appear to be powdery mildew. Is it perhaps some kind of virus?

Here are some small bush-type cherry tomatoes. I got them from calloways and placed them in my raised bed boxes and they just never have seemed to thrive. They produce tasty tomatoes, but i just wonder if they could do better.

Here is some squash that i grew from seed and recently transplanted. Not sure if this is bug damage or heat stress or what...

And last but not least, here are some bush beans that I mostly planted in hopes of improving some soil. I would love for them to be happy and productive as well.

So sorry for the lengthy message. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you all. This forum is so helpful to me.

In pots or ground?

How do you decide when to water?

When you do water, how long and by what system (hand; drip/trickle; sprinkler?)What's the weather been like?

Recent weather? Temps? Humidity?

The beans are in the ground and the other plants are all in cedar raised beds.

I usually try to check my plants every day and water intuitively. I have been watering deep and long by hand with a hose with a shower head setting. Sometimes in the early morning, sometimes in the early evening. So its probably been about every other day or every 3rd day. The soil also has some cedar mulch on top.

I am in Texas so it is HOT HOT HOT. lows about 75 in the am and up to the high 90s later in the day. Not sure about the humidity...right now the forecast says 41% and thats probably about what its been for the past week or so.

Well, my thought was originally, and still is, environmental damage from heat & high temps.

Some regions that typically have high temps during the "classic" growing season will have work-arounds in that they will plant at different seasons.

You'll get reliable info from your County's Extension Service office. Use the map at the link below --

In the meantime, it might be helpful to rig temporary shade, especially for the stuff in the planters.

oh! thanks so much! I will definitely check it out and try to provide some shade. I just built some trellises and was worried about having too much shade but it looks like it will be a plus!
