I could not get my cabbages to come to a head. Any suggestions?

That usually happens when the weather is too hot, especially early in their life. The faster you can get them to grow the tighter heads you will get. Use a high nitrogen fertilizer and don't forget that cabbage is a heavy calcium user.
|
When did you plant them? It might not be time yet. But don't worry, the leaves are edible even if they don't head. Pick a few of the nice ones and use them as you would any green.

Good point. After all collards are nothing but headless cabbages
