Cucumber/cantelope wilt

Ok, what causes this wilt problem where the whole vine starts to die off, and how do I avoid it? I feel they were getting enough water etc.

Squash Vine Beetle larva burrowing in the plants stems, too much soil moisture, bacterial wilt, fusarium wilt.

How to prevent the Squash Vine Beetle? We had lots of rain, I don't know what to do about that....

You cannot do much about the rain except make the soil you have drain very well. This link has some good information about the various squash bugs and means of control.

I suspect that most of the trouble is other than SVB. Bores don't kill so many of the solid vine cucurbits in my thinking.
