Bug Identification

I know this isn’t the right forum, if there is a forum where I should be posting this, please let me know.

I just found these bugs in the corner of my bedroom (see link below). They were crawling along the baseboards. They are approximately 4mm long. I tried to get a picture of the underside but by the time I got the camera focused, they would flip back over. On the underside, they have lots (no idea how many) of pairs of little light colored legs.

I live in California, in the ‘East Bay’ of the SF Bay area.

I tried looking through a couple of bug identification websites but didn’t find anything.

Any idea what they are and how to get rid of them?

Thank you!!

~Robin

Larder or carpet beetle larvae.

If you have just one or several, they're not a problem. If you have many, you better start looking for their food -- wools, feathers, and more. The clean that out.

Thank you both for the replies!

A big ugh to carpet beetles though...I just read about them online and I can't say I'm happy with them being in the house here. Sounds like I need to do some cleaning and see if that gets rid of them and if not, maybe I need to call someone *grumbles*

Wonder where they came in from?

OP asked "Wonder where they came in from?"

They normally stay outdoors. May hitch hike indoors on your clothing or cut flowers.

The key, as I said, is how many you have. If many, start looking for what they're eating, then get rid of that, or clean it thoroughly.
