| Wire worms are the larvae of the click beetle (q.v.). You need to disrupt their life cycle to get rid of them. |

| My grandfather used to fill a small mesh onion bag with fat, bury it in the potato patch with a marker and dig up in a few weeks. I've tried it and it really works. Totally disgusting to pull a bag of fat and wire worms out of the ground though! |

| Perhaps this from the University of California might be of some help. The one organophosphate poison mentioned is not an acceptable organic solution. |
