Detoxing a citrus tree?

I "inherited" a Navel orange tree from a relative's garden when they pulled it out to place sod in that spot. i would love to hang on to it for sentimental reasons though I have other similar citrus trees. I heard that my relative used Ortho and a domestic ant killing chemical spray etc on it during its life time in their yard. It had very little root mass (less than 3 inches long) when i got it and only a few stems. I have nursed it for 4 years to make it healthy. Now, I suddenly found flowers on it and my dilemma has begun. I want to know if few years of organic feeding and all new roots and foliage has detoxed my tree or should I wait more years to harvest fruit off this tree?

After 4 years, even a systemic pesticide would be gone from your plant.

Cool. Good to know that I am on the right track. Thanks, Rhizo!
