Garden Pearls or Nutri-Rich?

There are two organic products that I am looking at to fertilize my veggie garden for next year. One is Garden Pearls http://www.organicmall.com/products/6608 and the other is Nutri-Rich. http://www.planetnatural.com/site/garden-fertilizer.html Which is best in regards to the nutritional benefits of what I am growing and the health of the plant or does it matter?

There is snow on the ground now so I am late to turn the fertilizer into the soil but when it warms up it can be done. Does it matter whether I till one of the above products into the soil now or can/should I wait until spring?

Thanks.

Organic fertilizers need the activity of soil organisms to convert them into plant-usable forms. When soil temperatures drop, the soil organisms become inactive and fertilizer is not utilized. If it is mineralized by soil organisms, it is not being metabolized by plants now so goes to waste anyway. Much better to wait until spring just before planting to incoporate into the soil.

Both of the products you refer to are pretty much single ingredient fertilizers........it is of course a matter of choice but I find single ingredient ferts less desirable than blended fertilizers derived from an assortment of ingredients. I believe these deliver a more well-rounded selection of nutrients including micros and trace elements.

Look at the Dr. Earth products listed also at PlanetNatural - the Tomato/Veggie fert (Organic 5) is an excellent product, 100% organic and specifically formulated to address the nutrient needs of edible crops.

Here is a link that might be useful: Dr. Earth Organic 5

What, if anything, does your garden need? Both of these provide some Nitrogen, Phosphorus, and Potash, but plants need much more. What did a good soil test indicate might be needed?
What is your soils pH?
What is your soil type?
How well does tht soil drain?
How well does that soil retain moisture?
What kind of life is in your soil?
How much organic matter is in your soil?
Many people think that because most all "fertilizers" provide NPK that is all plants need when they need much more. Most all "fertilizers" should be looked at as drugs, steroids, that push plants into growth that is more attractive to insect pests.

Thanks for the tip on Dr. Earth. The company is very pleased with that line and I ordered what they recommended for my veggie garden. They liked Dr. Earth LIFE All Purpose Fertilizer.
