| I think that Love tends to increase the population of people in the World. What do you think about it?
If it is so, then - who will feed them? |

| To much of a good thing often times just kills it after that it wont realy matter what I think or how I eat. |
|
| valerie, Yes, love does increase the world's population more than hate does. Hate tends to war and killing. |
|
| Nope. People who have sex aren't always in love. But, I still give this post a big WTF? |
|
| Duh, they're in love in an Organic sorta way, lol. Sometimes you need pliers to twist the posts to fit the topic, lol. |

| I'm with fruitgirl, I don't get the connection and I'm as warped as they come! |

|
| Huh, what??!! |

| It is only uneducated people who breed more, that is not the same as stupid. Counter-intuitively enough you can reduce overpopulation by reducing child mortality, more people choose to stop having children after 3-4. The population of people will grow until disease and starvation lowers it, it happens. |

| But, I still give this post a big WTF? What is WTF? how you say in Russian, "PULL OUT!" A year ago I had read a book called "Farming and us", don't remember author. He claimed that befor the farming (it was born the land of Iraq app. 10 000 years ago), the relationship between people were good. There were no slavery, for example. Farming had boost the population. And then - hierarchy, slavery, army, wars and so on. If you look to the hett's (A country of hetts now a land of Iran) word "water" there was "wadar", in Russia - "wada", in Germany "vater". Do you listen the sounds? (hehehehehe, ya organic guys are funny, best laugh I had all day, thanks.) The only thing I value in the life is a joke. The next is laugh. |

| According to psychologist Steven Pinker 20-60% of men in huntergatherer societies die at the hands of another man. |

| I do not know, beyond the distinction that the data comes from anthropologists in the field. If it helps I have never seen anyone criticize his data. As for Baltimore some wikipedia data and a back of the envelope calculation show that a man in Baltimore has less than 1.1% chance of dieing at the hands of another man. As for the origins of the stupid people outbreeding the smart, that idea goes back at least another 90 years before that bub. |
Here is a link that might be useful: watch his talk

| According to psychologist Steven Pinker 20-60% of men in huntergatherer societies die at the hands of another man. It is too general statement to be true. |

| 1.1% that depends on the neighborhood. |
|
| I love my cat, but that won't increase the worlds population, nor will the fact that I love my daughter, and I love to garden, and stare out over the ocean as the last red rays of the sun die and the moon rises full and Yellow on the horizon! So I guess the answer depends on how you quantify "love". |

| The huntergatherer societies of today are descended from hunter gatherers all the way back, the same forces are acting on them. ALL of the other great apes have higher "murder" rates than humans in societies do. If you have any evidence to support the "noble savage" myth then please present it, but to me it seems implausible and unlikely. Yes the 1.1% does depend on location, but still even in the seedy parts of town it is no where near 60%. I think anoid1 has a good point about how we haven't got a definition of love to work with here. |
|
| Hi All I can say is "What's love got to do with it." Whats love but a second hand emotion"?? In the immortal words of the noted philosopher Tina Turner. Certainly no expert on love among the "hunter gatherers" but would guess they have far more words for "property" as opposed to "love"?? When you think about MOST all societies selected mates for their offspring way up into the beginning of this century. Did you learn nothing from "Romeo and Juliet??lol Have always wondered what "Sex" would be like if there was no language?? The "cave people seem to have overcome that problem" The obvious answer would be "rape" but then humans have way too long a childhood . How the heck did she alone hunt and gather enough for at least 12 years?? Not too mention the fact that she might get pregnant again?? You can see how the apes do it but WOW they have so many advantages lol gary |

| Has anyone seen the film "Idiocracy"? Elements of this thread seem to have eluded to that story. Check it out, de-evolution at its finest. |

| No such thing as "de-evolution", simply evolution in a different direction. The selective pressures in the movie changed in such a way as to allow the stupid to thrive. |

| Re: the question posed - about love -- this has WHAT to do with organic gardening -- besides being the animal effluvium that adds nitrogen to our compost piles? This question has been posed before .... so just what conclusions were drawn from the previous postings ... Did you learn anything, or is this just something you do while waiting for your inevetable end? [alone, since you are obviously tooooo intelligent to breed] |

| Oh I get it .... Valerie the russian says ""The only thing I value in the life is a joke. The next is laugh. "" He's having a big hee-haw at the expense of anyone who attempts to treat the question seriously. Everything is a joke to him. When I see a new thread authored by this person, I will just save my time for something productive, like gardening. This IS a gardening forum, isn't it? |

| Hey, borderbarb (What a heck with that name?), I'll put you in a mouth a big hand'a'hoch, if you want.:) Unfortunately, my English is bad, Very bad!! But I feel that you are in movement... I'll answer you about gardening. Very few people in the would understand what is gardening. I'm not talking about organic gardening... When you understand what is gardening, you'll not return!! |

| I'll explain why I put the problem with Love in OG forum later.. Now, I just want to say you, that "inorganic Love" is unnatural, very unnatural, stupid, fired and so on. If you want to understand "what is Love", you have to learn about the Circle of Life first... Oh, brothers, it's a long story about the Love! |
