Isn't it amazing, Wanda? There is that old saying "nature abhors a vacuum" and it's true. I suspect many people drive or walk right past many of the little jewels and never even notice them. I try to daily (though it sometimes doesn't work out that way) to take the time to walk around the property and REALLY look at what is there. It amazes me what I miss each time.

This morning, I sat in the gazebo and watched a brown creeper come and go into the hedgerow. They're a secretive bird and one doesn't usually find them close to human habitation. I also noticed a wren who was carrying worms to a little wren house my husband placed on a post holding the electricals of the pond pump. I have at least three birds nesting a second brood now, including a Mama Robin who is laying a clutch on an old robin's nest.
