A few oldies, but goodies...

As I said in my other post, I've been scanning some old photos from my mom's photo albums. Here are a few of my favorites:

Some of my dad's school pictures (1960's - Early 70's) He looks exactly the same... I think I look most like the oldest picture though.

Me (in the back) with my little cousin and my Pawpaw... he always let us play "beauty shop" with his hair. Once, we put a bunch of hairclips and bows in his hair right after he got out of the shower, and he forgot about them and went outside to talk to the neighbor. LOL The neighbor didn't say anything, and when he walked inside, my grandma had to tell him he still had all that stuff in his hair. LMAO (pic from 1985)

This one is of my mom (in the back) and my Aunt (dad's sister, in front) in about 1976... just a few months before I was born. They were 17 and 19-ish.

He was. He had really thick hair, and he said it never hurt him. We had a special tray in that shelf that's behind me, that had a bunch of hair bands and barretts in it. LOL

Looking at these old pictures really gets me to thinking. He was only 48 in that picture (my Grandparents had their kids young, as did my parents). He looks like such an old man. He only lived 3 more years after that. I guess life really was a lot harder back then.

A grandfather who lets little girls play beauty shop with him? Priceless. He was really young. How sad to lose someone that early.

It was hard. I was almost 12 when he died, and was the oldest by 5 years. The one on his lap inthe picture, is the only other one of us who really truly remembers him.

My Grandma (from the other picture... the favorite one) was only 57 when she died. I was 20-ish. She was very special to all of us. In 6 years, I'll be the same age she was, when I was born... 38.
