No, he's not left alone all day - this only happens when his family all go out shopping on a Saturday. He wants company. The first time he got under completely I found him in the yard having a merry old time with my dogs and then he was delighted to see me!

Rocky is an Australian Cattle Dog... same as my Jaz.

*Knock on wood* As crazy as Jaz is, she's never tried digging out of the yard. Thank god!!!

Those pictures are adorable; first, the "nose", then, the head and shoulders! If I were he, I'd want to come over and play, too. Then, if I were you, I wouldn't want to send him home again. What a hoot!

The first time I actually found him in the yard it was about ten minutes before I absolutely had to leave the house for some fancy "do" and I was just out of the shower and still in my robe. His folks are gone but I go over with Rocky in tow only to find their have no gates on their side yards...it's in their front door or not at all. So I leave a note on the door saying he's in my yard. I leave him some water, put my dogs in the house and off I have to go.

When I get back there's a message on my service that he had made his own way home under the fence when he got bored in my yard without my dogs for company.

Next time it happened I left him out, knowing he'd go home.

He's badly in need of some training but my neighbors haven't got clue one about any of that. These dogs are very smart and need a job or they get into a lot of trouble. Maybe I should put a dog door in the fence:)
