My take on it and the time he lived in, people who are so very selfrightious and uptight that they frown on anything smelling of enjoyment are the least likely to help other people. I met a several of that type which will not help because it is against their perceived interpretation of strict rules.

Thanks for the reply, anneliese. Your quote was thought provoking, therefore the question. I've met people that "frown" on people who seems to have fun in life. I've also wondered why certain people will not help other people.
