I like the quotes, have experienced the sort of winters the writers write about and feel blessed it's not that bad here, yet I fervently look forward to Spring.

Oh yes, I have experienced "intimate delights, fireside enjoyments, home-born happiness, and all the comforts that the lowly roof of undisturbed retirement, and the hours of long uninterrupted evening, know." But it was a lot of work and planning just to survive the winter.
