Jumping in, Lilo might have problems again.

Ray Bradbury, one of my favorite writers, is right. All quotes about books are good. I discovered I love books even on Kindle.
I apologize, my problem wasn't computer, it was difficulty getting my fire banked for overnight, it took more time than I assumed and I shut the computer off and went to bed before I realized I didn't do quotes. Thought I'd do them in the morning, but with the time difference it's late east of the Rockies.

I think Kindle may have rekindled another generations love of books. My son's teacher's ban on books is deep, I have to wonder if reading books is that big a problem in their class? He got a hard copy book taken away yesterday (rightfully so!!!), and he won't get it back until May. My friends' daughter always has a book in her hands. Half of the time it's an electronic book. These kids are teenagers, so I think it is ultracool. They could be opting for video games.

My Kindle has changed the way I spend my free time, and while some of it is used in reading, most of the time, I use it as a computer. While my husband is using our desktop, I use the Kindle to do almost anything I want , i.e., send and receive email, visit web sites, surf the 'net, etc., and read, too . As long as I have wifi, I'm good. Even my local car dealer has it available for folks getting their vehicles serviced. Still, nothing will ever replace turning the pages of a book!

Lilo. I have not thought of this for a long time, but I remember that some days banking the fire in a woodstove was enough to fill the room with smoke from the cussing, LOL. I still would like one nevertheless. Somebody in our neighborhood has one and if they use it I stay outside for a few more minutes smelling the air. Now coal smoke is something else.

Lilo, it's cold in the morning, California style.
Although our GS (age 8) is very interested and loves his iPad, and we could have bought him an app, we decided to buy him a hardcover book called "A book without pictures" for christmas. He loved it and all of us joined in reading the book. We had a great time.
