Sambucus Black Lace in late May. I prune this back severely every spring. Soon after this picture, it went on a growing spurt and ended up almost 7' tall.

Love these..i have 2 of them. They really outdid themselves last summer. Usually the blooms are slightly larger than a dinner plate...last summer they were meat platter size.

I'm not familiar with this plant, but it is beautiful. Almost anything that can be cut down, and then 'come back' the next year, is what I like. Our butterfly bush--Black Knight--is like that. The cutting back seems to help it grow better.
