"Courage is not a man with a gun in his hand. It's knowing you're licked before you begin but you begin anyway and you see it through no matter what. You rarely win, but sometimes you do."
- Atticus Finch ~ 'To Kill A Mockingbird'

"We all go a little mad sometimes... Haven't you?"
Psycho (1960)

"Eighteen months ago, the first evidence of intelligent life off the Earth was discovered. It was buried forty feet below the lunar surface, near the crater Tycho. Except for a single, very powerful radio emission aimed at Jupiter, the four million year old black monolith has remained completely inert, its origin and purpose still a total mystery."
2001: A Space Odyssey (1968)

"I understand a lot of people enjoy being dead. But they're not dead, really. They're just backing away from life. Reach out. Take a chance. Get hurt even. Play as well as ya can. Go team, go! Give me an L. Give me an I. Give me a V. Give me an E. L-I-V-E. LIVE! Otherwise, you got nothin' to talk about in the locker room."
Harold and Maude (1971)

Good morning, Don--E.S.T., that is.

What a great set of quotes with which to begin the day. #4, esp., was meaningful to me, b/c I'm in a mind frame right now where it's easier just to stay home. Of course, all that may change if I attend the silent, respectful, "Moms for Manchin" demonstration, this afternoon. It's to counter a gun-rights' rally. (This is not a post that should be on Hot Topics; it's just my plans for this afternoon.) Oh, and after that, I'm going to the library to see, hear, and meet Gen. Robert E. Lee. Wait, did I say it was easier just to stay home? :>)
