I'm reading a book called "Follow the River", a novel based on "the true ordeal of Mary Ingles". In 1755, some folks in a very small settlement on the west side of the Blue Ridge mountains--truly wilderness, then--were taken by Indians. The story is of her escape and remarkable, almost unbelievable, journey back to her home. All of the quotes for today really are demonstrated in this book. The strength of the human spirit is unquenchable!
