John Muir They claim this mother of ours, the Earth, for their own use, and fence their neighbors away from her, and deface her with their buildings and their refuse. It is horrifying that we have to fight our own government to save the environment. When we try to pick out anything by itself, we find it hitched to everything else in the universe. I think it makes people in the Pentagon kind of nervous to know that chemical agents and environmental factors could cause so much damage in terms of what may happen in the future. Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it's the only thing that ever has.
