On the other hand, I don't wait for time, I do my stuff.

West Gardener - I like that!

Ah, but the one thing we can't do for ourselves? Get back "lost" time. But as you know, I too do my stuff, never waiting. :)

Sometimes you have to wait, like when you come home from a day of routine doctors appointments for husband and myself out of town and find that the street to your house is dug up on account of the umpteenth water problem. Husband can't make it on foot through front yards up the hill and you don't have water anyhow. So you spent the next 38 hours at a motel down the road.
|
Oh, Anneliese, I hope your post means that you're back home, now. What a BUMMER of a situation, to put it mildly!

Yes, I am back. I had no problem scrambling back to get husband's laptop, pjs, something to read, meds and other necessities and feed the cat. Look at the bright side: no need to cook and wash dishes, eight fast food joints within 1/4 mile and the same distance to walk home in the other direction to check on the progress. They replaced water and sewer pipes and we hope that now the 30year problems is solved. Since years they dug up and poked around at least twice a year somewhere along our short dead-end sidestreet.

anneliese, glad to see that you are back in your house, and comfy. Home is best. But it seems to me that you spent the 38 hours the best possible way. You did not let the "water company" take over your priorities. You took care of your business during the ordeal. And I like your: " Look at the bright side: no need to cook and wash dishes,". I like that. The subject of the post is:"Time waits for no one". The 38 hours would have gone by no matter what you did, but you chose to put the time to work. You did a super job.

You're back! Ah good.
