I want to add: a piece of soil becomes a garden to the gardener

RE: Quotes 3/18/2011

Yes lilod, good point. A piece of soil, whatever size, is a gardener's or a farmer's inspiration.
I remember a sight I'll never forget while on a trip in Sweden. A farmer had planted golden wheat and Bachelor Buttons in the shape and colors of a Swedish Flag (gold and blue). The wind was blowing and it looked like the flag was waving. Someone had a vision and went with it.
On a much smaller scale, a 3x4 raised bed I plant Bachelor Buttons and yellow flowers, but in my mind I still see the beautiful farmer's field.

Here is a link that might be useful: Golden wheat and Bachelor Button colors.
