The first quote really rings a bell for me - everyone has different memories of the same event. Sometimes when we are all together, talking about a vacation, for instance, it seems everyone had a different set of parents, siblings and each asserts that's the way it was - all a matter of perception. And of course, I had a different set of kids, too
