Isn't it ironic that with all of today's special ways to connect, i.e., cell phones, I-Pads, Kindles, Samsungs, etc., it seems to be harder than ever to really communicate with each other. It's as if we talk and talk--but do we really hear what the other person is saying? I doubt it!

Looking snappy! I can't imagine doing it that way. We had phones and faxes when I started. Still no email, but it was hard enough faxing.

Believe it or not, we still use people like him on my campus. We're spread across many city blocks and so, you may need to submit a document to the federal government, but need original sigantures on it and the parties could be at the 33rd Avenue building, when I am sitting here in a building just off 25th Avenue. At least we don't get on planes and deliver federal grants in person any more. The last group to switch to completely electronic is this year? I think. So much easier than all that printing, collating, boxing, and delivering.

They still have bike couriers in SF, nowadays they are mostly in the financial district. I remember some 30+ years ago when they were all over downtown sf, and they were fearless, weaving in and out of traffic. They were freelancers and time was money.
Ah, memories.

I remember the messengers from my NY time, mainly in the Wallstreet area but to a lesser extend all over Manhattan. I think I never saw one who was not slim and trim. I know the drivers were not very fond of them.
