A Fashion Show - Country Style

A perfect antidote to the events of the last few days

A fund-raiser dinner/fashion-show combination, held in the high-school gym.
Many volunteer hours created this event.
Dinner served by students, male and female, pleasant and efficient,, making sure all guests had what they needed.
There was music, performed by local artists: Cello, flute and violin.
It was an almost full house, the audience as diversified as the garments shown.
The garments were furnished by sponsors, local, from Willits and Ukiah
Western wear, dress-up wear, formal and some best classified as costumes
Girls hair was done by Curl up and Dye,
The models: Toddlers, boys and girls of all ages, Moms, some accompanied by their youngsters, teachers.
Comedy act: A teacher, middle-aged, known to never wear a dress, always her trade-mark shorts, modeled a muumuu, she carried a parasol, wore mismatched socks, one blue and one yellow (the school colors)
A metamorphosis: young boy models a western outfit, including boots with spurs, twirled an imaginary rope, true cowboy-style and later modeled an ensemble from the tie-dye business in town: left as a cowboy, returned as a hippie.
It was so âÂÂLaytonvilleâ I am glad I live here.
