Dreams
by Langston Hughes

Hold fast to dreams
For if dreams die
Life is a broken-winged bird
That cannot fly.

Hold fast to dreams
For when dreams go
Life is a barren field
Frozen with snow
*******

Today is a day I have nothing to say.
I've worked hard and the price has been paid
By a trip to the Man who bends me around
'Til my bones creak and groan.
So enjoy the silence and believe in the quiet,
For when I come back, It'll be the same
"Quack! Quack! Quack"!

Hope your bones/joints feel better, KJ, at least for a little while.

Your quotes have been great. I've enjoyed all of them.

Love the poem, even if the dreams for today went the way of visits to doctor, lab, doctor again, pharmacy and bed for mny husband, instead of the planned family celebration with sons and families for our golden anniversary. He is just too weak for visits. Hope we can celebrate later when he feels stronger.

Good ones KJ, sounds like you saw the chiropractor. Hope you got some soft tissue work done too as it helps the adjustments hold longer and makes them more effective.

Anneliese, Happy Anniversary! Hope things get better so the two of you can celebrate properly.
