The first of April is the day we remember what we are the other 364 days of the year.
Mark Twain

Long stormy spring-time, wet contentious April, winter chilling the lap of very May; but at length the season of summer does come.
Thomas Carlyle

There is no glory in star or blossom till looked upon by a loving eye; There is no fragrance in April breezes till breathed with joy as they wander by.
William C. Bryant

All three quotes are appropriate:

Mark Twain's is what we ALL should think of each morning as we awake;

Thomas Carlyle's ghost must be hovering over most of the U.S., this year.

William C. Bryant's quote is so true. God gives us so many wonderful opportunities to appreciate this beautiful earth.

Thanks, Don--as always

I like all three, but my favorite is #3 - stepping out after dark the madrone, the lilac are now joined by another native shrub,, they call it graythorn not it's real name, and it has it's own, unique fragrance. The aroma is wonderful and intoxicating.

I also like William C. Bryant's quote as a human perspective.
But the bees, the butterflies and other interested insects are way ahead of us in appreciating the glory of spring.
