Let no vandalism of avarice or neglect, no ravages of time, testify to the present or to the coming generations, that we have forgotten, as a people, the cost of a free and undivided Republic.
John A. Logan

The story of America's quest for freedom is inscribed on her history in the blood of her patriots.
Randy Vader

How important it is for us to recognize and celebrate or heroes and she-roes!

Thank you so much, Anne---you always do a great job with quotes!

I get misty when I see a military unit on parade, excited when seeing a military unit rolling down the highway, can't hold back the tears when Taps rings out at the funerals of deceased friends who served, watch all those old war movies---and, when I see a young man in uniform, I always tell him,
"Thank you" and sometimes give him a hug
if I sense he wouldn't mind.
Most of all, when the older veterans are handing out the little paper poppies, I hug them
and kiss them on the cheek and 'The Fields of Flanders' whirls about us.
I'm fighting back tears and they're smiling
the sweetest smiles in the world.

May we never forget and may the world
someday learn how to live in peace.
