A long cruise - San Juan, part 2

Let's go for a walk around town. As you can see, it is hilly. This time we weren't going too far so we did some walking. When taking a cruise, getting lots of exercise is a good thing. That makes more room for the deserts that seem to look so appetizing.

Once you leave the ship, there is a nice visitors information center. Maps can be obtained here along with some friendly advice. I almost forgot, San Juan can be humid in the summer. The ship will be air conditioned, so your camera lens is likely to fog up. Anticipate this. We were there in late October and humidity was not a factor.

Unless you are a hardy soul, take the free trolley up the hill and explore on your way back down.

I have several pictures to show and I don't know how to put them all on one posting, so there will be several smaller posts today.

I had read about this place online. We had to go inside. Cute bistro atmosphere and some nice things to consider buying.

I believe that this 'pigeon man' is in Plaza de Armas. I took several shots here, but the light at the back made it difficult to get something decent. Obviously, the pigeon are familiar with this gentleman. The shade makes for a nice place to stop and observe the locals without a souvenir shop in sight.

Jim, love the pics of the Old San Juan, especially the architecture, and showing the narrow streets full of cars.
Obviously those streets were not meant for cars.
I got a kick out of the Pigeon Man, we have a lot of something or another, "man" at SF pier, but not a pigeon man.
BTW. there is a way to run the photos together all in one post at GW, by using HTML.
But I prefer the way you are posting.

Your pictures give a good impression of the Hispanic influence in San Juan, especially the iron balcony railings. I like the pidgeon man and hope he has a good washing machine (having been the roosting place for pidgeons in Berlin which taught me never to feed the critters from my hand).
