Happy Mother's Day

Today I want to share a bit of my own mother with my friends here. She was forever copying things she found meaningful and keeping them in her favorite book - a cook book.

When she died, my sister sent me a framed photocopy of one of the things she had found meaningful and kept:

JUST A MOMENT

Any moment of hating

any moment of lying,

any moment of resentment is a

moment of dying.

Any moment of loving,

any moment of giving,

any moment of thankfulness, is a

moment of living.

All our moments add together

like the digits in a sum

and the answer tells us plainly

whether life or death will come.

She lived loving, and giving, and thankful, and is remembered by all for it.

Thanks for the happy mother's day greeting, shilty. That was a nice tribute to your mother.
We had our combination of dh birthday and mother's day celebration today. We've celebrated in the same place for many years. It's a continuing family tradition.
