The moment you have in your heart this extraordinary thing called love and feel the depth, the delight, the ecstasy of it, you will discover that for you the world is transformed.

J. Krishnamurti (1895 - 1986)

The use of our intelligence quite properly gives us pleasure. In this respect the brain is like a muscle. When we think well, we feel good. Understanding is a kind of ecstasy.

Carl Sagan (1934 - 1996)

Tripping over Joy

What is the difference
Between your experience of Existence
And that of a saint?

The saint knows
That the spiritual path
Is a sublime chess game with God

And that the Beloved
Has just made such a Fantastic Move

that the saint is now continually
Tripping over Joy
And bursting out in Laughter
And saying, "I Surrender!"

Whereas, my dear,
I'm afraid you still think

You have a thousand serious moves.

Ever since happiness heard your name, it has been running through the streets trying to find you.

Don, what a lovely way to begin the day; as always, thanks very much.

Good morning, the quotes just made me realize that 102º is only a measurement, it's up to me if I want to be miserable or not, thank you!

I like especially the Sagan quote.
Lilo, i have been wondering how hot it is in your corner. Here hight temperatures are always accompanied by high humidity and my consolation is that I have a cheap sauna, no work and no fees.

I like the Carl Sagan one. I actually create brain work for myself, and when I solve something, it feels great.
It is 102 in the shade, and the only puzzle game I play today, is how to keep this old body cool. We do have a/c, but I have to figure out how to navigate between a/c places.

Expanding on the Carl Sagan quote. Sagan was a big thinker. He thought about the Universe.
I'm not a big thinker, I stay close to home.
But his quotes work in any universe.
