It is not so much for its beauty that the forest makes a claim upon men's hearts, as for that subtle something, that quality of air that emanation from old trees, that so wonderfully changes and renews a weary spirit.
Robert Louis Stevenson

Look deep into nature, and then you will understand everything better.
Albert Einstein

One touch of nature makes the whole world kin.
William Shakespeare

We lived in large cities and I enjoyed the opportunities they gave me but I always was ready to move into the country, to be near woods to roam in, a brook or lake to sit by and birds to listen to. I feel more whole, not torn into umpteen different directions.
Thanks for all the wonderful quotes this week, Don.
Hope all your doctor visits went well.

I spent my childhood in a city, but it had lots of parks and a woods in the suburbs - spent my young adult years first in ruins and then in the burbs and retired to what's almost the "outback" and morphed into a country woman/tree-hugger, happy ever after

Gosh, Don; those were great quotes----thank you so much!

I don't have the wonderful surroundings Lilo has, but my whole world changes when I step into the garden....shaded pathways, sunny, open main garden and large expanses of ancient Oak shade covering much of the lawns around my daughters' house next door----no matter what part I'm in, or what job I'm doing, I'm happy and at peace.
My sweat and tears have unlocked the gardens' heart and I've been welcomed 'in' as one of the creatures who share space in her ever-changing glory.
