Thanks Lilo! I appreciate the kind thoughts. It could be anything or nothing at this point. We'll see in another three hours... not that I'm counting down, I'm just really "ready" to know.

Rob333 - Ligament(s) could be torn but it is also possible that it is just a severe strain (worse than a sprain) with no tearing. Never go into a non-emergency surgery without a second opinion from the physician of your choice. If you have a GP, ask them who they would send their family members to for an opinion on this. Whew. Not another summer without swimming!!!! Woohoo! It's tendonitis and the beginnings of arthritis. Both are kept at bay with PT. I can do that. I already do for my back.

Rob, so glad that your diagnosis was better than maybe what you thought it could/would be. (How convoluted is that?) :>)

Swimming is great exercise; so enjoy your Summer.

You betcha! I was thinking that very thing last Thursday. A small child looked at his grandmother and gave her the thumbs up. He'd just finished swimming, standing in the sun eating a bite. And I though, "wave, surf, sun, and food. Doesn't get better than this, does it? You're right! two thumbs up!". Life is very good indeed.
