Our tour guide let us out on Piazza Tasso, the main plaza in Sorrento. We were hungry and found a nice restaurant. What we would refer to as a sidewalk cafe, was like that, only there was no sidewalk. So, we ate at a street cafe. There were very few sidewalks in the older part of the city where many of the tourists go.

This sign is outside a really neat shop. Fattoria Terranova is an organic farm operation with a bed and breakfast. The store is the outlet for many of their products. It was extremely difficult for me to resist spending huge amounts of money here. It is right on the Piazza Tasso.

This is a typical side street in the older part of Sorrento. The only vehicles to navigate this would be motor scooters.

I did not see any private homes in Sorrento, it appeared that everyone lived in buildings like this.

Wandering down some of the side streets, I came upon a small shop that had this display. Augusto is the proprietor and artist who makes these wonderful boxes of inlaid wood. I could not resist and purchased a small one. The missus has it in a prominent spot on her dresser.

I discovered an out-of-the-way park in Sorrento. There were only a few patrons. I thought that this looked really cool. I could not read the Italian plaque and have been unable to locate any information about it.

Now this looks like my kind of place. Imagine going to Italy and being in a town with a population of less than 20,000 and spending a day or two at this place.

A view of the bay with a ferry going to someplace. I researched a bit and discovered that ferries go to at least 5 other towns along the coast.
