If I didn't try to eavesdrop on every bus ride I take or look for the humor when I go for a walk, I would just be depressed all the time.
Lynda Barry

Some years ago there was a study to discover the most stressful occupation. It turned out not to be the head of a large business, football manager or prime minister, but rather: bus driver.
Jonathan Sacks

You can find poetry in your everyday life, your memory, in what people say on the bus, in the news, or just what's in your heart.
Carol Ann Duffy

Yesterday on the bus the driver had to kick a drunk, loudly arguing couple off. They were all over the place in the bus, then gone. A woman argued with another woman and her husband while the kids watched in the grocery store tonight, then the lone woman left while the others talked to the manager. Must be the moon or something.

"Weird Al" Yankovic
"Another One Rides The Bus"

Riding in the bus down the boulevard
And the place was pretty packed (Yeah!)
Couldn't find a seat so I had to stand
With the perverts in the back
It was smelling like a locker room
There was junk all over the floor
We're already packed in like sardines
But we're stopping to pick up more, look out

[Chorus]
Another one rides the bus
Another one rides the bus
Another comes on and another comes on
Another one rides the bus
Hey, who's gonna sit by you
Another one rides the bus

There's a suitcase poking me in the ribs
There's an elbow in my ear
There's a smelly old bum standing next to me
Hasn't showered in a year
I think I'm missing a contact lens
I think my wallet's gone
And I think this bus is stopping again
To let a couple more freaks get on look out

[Chorus]

[sound effects]

Another one rides the bus

Another one rides the bus ow
Another one rides the bus hey hey
Another one rides the bus hey-ey-ey-ey ey ey eyyyyyy

The window doesn't open and the fan is broke
And my face is turning blue (Yeah)
I haven't been in a crowd like this
Since I went to see the Who
Well I should've got off a couple miles ago
But I couldn't get to the door
There isn't any room for me to breathe
And now we're gonna pick up more yeaaah

[Chorus]

Having had my share of bus rides, it can be entertaining, maddening and depressing, but seldom boring. Stressful for the driver, yes. But the most stressful job must be schoolbus driver. I had the pleasure a couple of years ago to accompany a handicapped child on the regular schoolbus while the special van was replaced after an accident. I was ready to ask for valium.

Carol An Duffy is right, I know that, but the people on busses don't inspire me - there ain't no bus here :(

I agree with lilo about Carol Ann Duffy , you can find poetry anywhere.(Paraphrasing here)
I have also had my share of bus rides and all bus rides are not the same.
I've ridden commuter , party, local, transit hub, National Bus lines and a wonderful bus service in Hawaii, called "The Bus", and in Hon Kong where you hang on for dear life.
If someone is so inclined to write poetry about bus rides, IMO, there is a wealth of material on a bus ride.
