Lost time is never found again.
Benjamin Franklin

If you don't have time to do it right, when will you have time to do it over?
John Wooden

Time is the coin of your life. It is the only coin you have, and only you can determine how it will be spent. Be careful lest you let other people spend it for you.
Carl Sandburg
It is strange that the years teach us patience; that the shorter our time, the greater our capacity for waiting.
Elizabeth Taylor

Time is what we want most, but what we use worst.
William Penn

"Time"
Pink Floyd

Ticking away the moments that make up a dull day
Fritter and waste the hours in an off-hand way
Kicking around on a piece of ground in your home town
Waiting for someone or something to show you the way

Tired of lying in the sunshine staying home to watch the rain
You are young and life is long and there is time to kill today
And then one day you find ten years have got behind you
No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun

And you run and you run to catch up with the sun but it's sinking
Racing around to come up behind you again
The sun is the same in a relative way, but you're older
Shorter of breath and one day closer to death

Every year is getting shorter, never seem to find the time
Plans that either come to naught or half a page of scribbled lines
Hanging on in quiet desperation is the English way
The time is gone, the song is over, thought I'd something more to say

Home, home again
I like to be here when I can
When I come home cold and tired
It's good to warm my bones beside the fire
Far away, across the field
The tolling of the iron bell
Calls the faithful to their knees
To hear the softly spoken magic spell

How bittersweet--one word or two?--are these quotes and how true. When one is young, and time seems unending, being old is unimaginable, but one day, suddenly, one is old and time keeps "slippin' away".

I don't know who said it, but the quote "Youth is wasted on the young" is very profound. They don't know what they have -- till they don't have it, anymore!

(Don, I think you're our resident philosopher. :)

What I find interesting is that the young always think old people are just sitting and have so much time and nothing to do, bored and cranky and slow, well some do, but often they are the ones that always were bored and cranky and slow, the ones who were curious and interested in youth, are the same when old, and they are lucky to have Google!
Even if the body is a bit slower, the mind still has something to do, curiosity lives on
