Almost ready to unpack

Finally some better news, we are now cautiously optimistic.
Fire is now 40% contained, and more important, the containment is on the East part, where it was difficult to keep the line from being overran because of wind direction, and that is the direction that threatened our area.
I will hold off unpacking for another day or two, making sure all is secured, like to see 50% containment.

Many advantages of the situation as it is. One is having the knowledge that you will be able to be in your own bed at night. Of all the things that might go with what you have been experiencing, to me the sleeping in my own bed is big time.

Lilo, I, too, will keep my fingers crossed a while longer, and hope that you and Joann will be able to unpack and maybe take a deep breath--one without smoke in it!

Thanks for the link to the article; it was very informative and reinforces the dedication and commitment of the folks who go the 'second mile' to keep the rest of us safe.

That is a really detailed description of how the fire camp is situated. I would imagine the professional firefighters have set one of them up so many times that they have it down to an art and don't waste any time or movements.

Happy they are getting containment of the fire and understand your waiting until it reaches a little higher percentage. Get a good night's sleep if you can. I don't envy those of you dealing with this situation - I know it's hard. Stay safe.
