That makes seven.

Another new great grandson, that makes five boys and two girls. This one was born late this afternoon. New mother called, everyone is fine. Boy weighed 8 lbs. 15 oz and was 22 inches long. Big kid. Don't think the father is over 5'8" but granddaughter is 6'2" so may be a tall kid. Her cousin, one of the twins, is due in two weeks and they didn't want to know what gender the new one will be so we are kind of hoping it will be a girl. Help to balance things out a bit. Leone is already saying she may have to go to Colorado to pick up peaches like she did last year when this kids cousin was born. New mother says they will be here at our house at our annual labor day get together. Should be fun.

Congratulations, George and Leone, on your newest great-grandchild.

With another birth expected in a couple of weeks, you'll be only one short of your very own baseball team. :>) Anymore on the way?

RE: That makes seven.

As a grandmother who only has two grandsons I am envious.
Neil and I would take weekend excursions looking for the
perfect house for our grands and great grands.

It had to be a big two story white house with a huge attic,
big trees for shade and swings.
Lots of bedrooms, bathrooms, a barn, a big wide creek we
could dam up to make a swimming hole, a place to go fishing.
acreage enough to play ball, chase butterflies in the meadow.

Sound like a fairy tale? It was what we wanted for our many
grandchildren that we dreamed of having one day.
We came close to finding the perfect house several times but
life got in the way. In reality we had one grandson growing
up in Atlanta, one here and one little fellow that came too
early to survive. We love them dearly, but now and again my
heart aches for the ones we never had.

I am looking forward to greats now, don't have any idea what
will happen in the future or whether we will even have greats.
My heart will go on loving just the same.

George and Leone, you are blessed with greats. I am so happy
that they are blessed to have been born into a family
that treasures and loves them so.
