The real danger is the gradual erosion of individual liberties through automation, integration, and interconnection of many small, seperate record-keeping systems, each of which alone may seem innocuous, even benevolent, and wholly justifiable.

Amongst the thousands of quotes out there and many, many topics, there are almost none on privacy. Is this because previous generations took it for granted, or is it that it never really existed.

My Mom was always on high alert fot gv'mnt, religious groups, the powerful in general, taking away our freedoms little by little, because we really were a herd of sheep in so many ways, she'd say.
She passed away in '84, still ranting about how stupid we were to let ANYone get away with that----esp. concerning book censorship.

Anne, thank you for posting this----very thought-provoking.
