May be a good idea! We don't have this critter here, so we are on our own, hoping for a wet one, not too cold. Don't know if that will happen. Maximus is on my lap and i can tell he's growing a bit of a winter-coat and his tail is very bushy - don't know if that means anything.
Midnight has been eating more since about a week and her fur is changing too. During the summer it's kind of long and almost no undercoat. Her long gard hairs are slowly falling out and her wintercoat is so thick that you can't see her skin, it's shorter and feels like the most expensive kind of velvet. Her 6 month check-up in January always brings everybody in the vet clinic by to pet her (and she hates it).
I figure that it will be hot this winter, I keep losing the hair on the top of my head.
But, then again, I keep adding pounds. So maybe it will be a typical winter.
Either way, I am outta here January 1, going to Florida to take a 21-day cruise. I'll be back toward the end of January...then the real rotten weather will come down on me!
IL in January, sounds brutual if you're near the lake? Can't imagine it.
I'd settle for all temps above single digit. And as little snow as we had last year. I'm not sure which is worse. Ultra cold, or ultra snowy? Gotta move back to a coast! Hawaii or CA, I'll take either one.
I am in central Illinois, not near water. And nothing to stop the wind. Whether it is cold or snow, or both...winter can be rotten. I prefer the cold, the missus prefers the heat. Neither of us like the wind; in the summer it is humid air and in the winter it is dry air.
It has been cool today, still in the 50s and cloudy and rainy and yucky. The furnace has run a couple of times, but it is still long-sleeves indoors. I figure that I'm done with shorts for the year.
I remember the woolybear and the saying behind it from back east. Yes, I'd buy a couple of extra blankets. I figure that there is something behind these sayings.
