People are always blaming circumstances for what they are. I don't believe in circumstances. The people who get on in this world are the people who get up and look for the circumstances they want, and, if they can't find them, make them.

He has a point, but he oversimplifies things just a tad, as you don't control where you are born and what your country is or your family.
One doesn't go out and look for circumstances to one's liking unless one is an adult and the total childhood is the first baggage, good or not.

Right Lilo, you can't control some things, especially as child, but you can't blame everything on that fact. All too often childhood is blamed for later behavior, see following court cases or why one child blames his parents and the other from the same family has no problems.

I agree with his statement, if he is speaking to people who have options in their life. Many people do not.
