Two for one: tried to fix this and it did not work, so quote #1 and #2 run into each other, well, at least it's the same individual.

Sometimes (not all the time), I wish I had the time to sit and think of things like this so that I could be quoted after I die.

Jim within our family we have family quotes all the time. DH quotes his Dad, and grandad, I quote my side of the family, our children quote us as parents.
None of us are famous, but we keep the family going.
BTW, my favorite saying is "when in doubt, clean or cook potatoes".lol, that will be part of the family "quotes".

I really didn't know Oscar Wilde was so perceptive! Each of the quotes is a 'gem', but like wg, I'm partial to #3. I tell you, NOBODY knew as much as I did, when I was 16 years old!

Most of the family quotes I remember were words said by my Mother. I quote her, frequently. The one I like best is when something extra nice--or 'above and beyond'-- is done by someone, I quote her: "You're earning jewels for your crown in Heaven".
