That I currently live in the rainiest city in America.
Mobile leads the way, more than the northwest.
Soggy is as soggy does. It's currently raining.
Il pleur, il pleur,
c'est la fete de grenouille...

| Conjugate your verbs, dammit! Gimme third person singular on "to rain!" Better still, here's an earworm to go with the poem! :o) (You're giving me French class flashbacks!) Sorry you're soggy. We're enjoying slightly chilly, but beautiful weather... Good time for sweaters, and not much more. But the rain will come to make a mess of things in no time. Other than the weather stuff, how are you adjusting to your new digs? |

| Apartment living is not my cup of tea nor is city traffic. But the 10 minutes to the bay and 30 minutes to the beaches on the weekend compensate more than some what for the inconvenience. What I miss most is my dogs. I really need to see about buying some land or moving to a more pet friendly apartment. |

| I confess my reading at the party has been kind of sporadic lately... how the heck did you end up in a place without the pack? (I assume they're being watched by someone, and you'll be reunited once you sort things out?) Based on the nature of your other posts over the years, life without your four-legged family isn't a model for your long-term happiness --- even with your new-found proximity to big water. Hope things get straightened out soon. The dampness is a mere distraction in light of this... |

| I would never have guessed Mobile to be the wettest city in the country. The things you do learn here. I also wondered about your dogs because you haven't mentioned them in a long time. What happened to them all? No place is perfect and it's a matter of weighing it all out. You had to try and you did. How is the job going? |

| The pack is now down to one dog, Joe Boxer. Freckles and Mignight are across the bridge. Joe is being looked after by a family that lives up the street from my home in Rogersville. The job is going OK, it's the same as before minus the unpleasant co-worker at the old job. |

| You lost the pack!?! I can't fathom that. Oh my gosh. |

Michael, I'm so sorry about Freckles and Midnight and really sorry that you are now living without a best friend to share your life. It sucks eggs. There has to be a solution to that for you. Shoot, even being that close to the beach wouldn't make up for that loss for me. I can't imagine life without my little Sassi girl. |

| Sorry about your dogs Michael. Hurts to lose a canine companion. |

Michael; just popped in----it's raining again here---no leaf pick-up. I am just sick for you and your 'FAMILY'----It must've taken every ounce of your inner strength to let them go, and I'm just so sorry you've had such tough circumstances. I hope things get better and all of you can be reunited somehow with life really centered again. (My rescue Rottweiler, Roxie, is my heart! Can't trust her near the cats, but after almost two years, she'll now let female neighbours pet her---don't think she'll ever trust a male to touch her, though.) KJ |

| Thanks everyone but that's price we pay for their companionship. There will be others, and I am haunting petfinder.com lately. There are so many to choose from it breaks my heart. |

Hey, can you send some of that rain down here? We could sure use it, Guatemala has had an awful drought this year. So sorry to hear about your dogs. |

| Mobile beat us (Seattle)?! That's hard to believe. Good luck on the dog search. If you ever need a puppy break, I would check out dailypuppy.com |
