One of things of which I am most proud. I have taught my son, it's not a bargain if you wouldn't have paid anything (not bought it) in the first place.

I was approached by someone at a food place, and they saw what was in my hand; a small plate. They told me I could get two small plates for $5.00, saving $0.50 on each. I said, yes, but if I only buy one, it costs me $3, thereby saving me the $2 extra he wanted me to spend! That sounded like a much better deal to me. He seemed perplexed and not know how to reply :)

I got a chuckle out of the last one, because all that was drummed into my mind was to wear clean underwear when you went out, in case you were in an accident.
I guess those were simpler times.
