Here is a nice postcard of those that escaped going on their vacation. Smiles.
Thanksgiving Greetings Vintage Post Card

Thanksgiving Day comes, by statute, once a year; to the honest man it comes as frequently as the heart of gratitude will allow. ~Edward Sandford Martin

Thanksgiving, after all, is a word of action. ~W.J. Cameron

I post this in honor of Gloria's son.

Hold on to what is good,
Even if it's a handful of earth.
Hold on to what you believe,
Even if it's a tree that stands by itself.
Hold on to what you must do,
Even if it's a long way from here.
Hold on to your life,
Even if it's easier to let go.
Hold on to my hand,
Even if someday I'll be gone away from you.
A Pueblo Indian Prayer

How absolutely beautiful. My favorite quotes seem to be American Indian and ancient quotes from the far East.

Thank you for both quotes, but especially the prayer.

Thank you coconut, you managed to convey both the sadness and gratefulness in one post.

Thanks ya'll.

I agree Marda, both speak to me. I think part of the reason is that both cultures respect and encourage both self reflection and awareness of others in our lives.
