photo help

| I posted this on the gallery but that doesn't seem to get a lot of traffic, so I'm posting it here as well.
I remember years ago asking for help on posting photos. (To the gallery, and in a thread.) Marda and some others gave me very helpful instructions. I've rarely posted these last 3+ years and have forgotten how to do it. But since I now have an internet connection I'm sure I will be posting more.(Heck, in the last two days I've already been on here more than I have in the past 6 months!) Anyway, I'd like to post some photos if someone will refresh my memory on how it's done.
Thanks in advance. |

| If you have or open a photobucket.com account (It's free) you can upload your picture to the site and the link for there. It's easy, you mouse over the picture you want to post and in the drop down box highlight the third box, "html code" right click and copy. Them come here an in a post right click and past. This will embed a picture in your post. |

RE: photo help

| Thanks for the help. But I'm still lost on this. I have photos on photobucket but I must be doing something wrong-when I hold the cursor over a photo nothing happens. No drop-down box or anything else. |
RE: photo help

| You have to be sure to use one of the small thumbnail photos in your album, not one you've clicked on..if you know what I mean.If you can get that box to come down, check the little box at top of the drop menu too. That will make it easier to copy the html code Michael mentioned. |
RE: photo help

| Or if you can't get the box to show up, try this. 1. click on the photo thumbnail to bring up a larger view. 2. in the large view, there is a Share tab on the lower left (under an ad) 3. Click on the snippet of Code by "HTML" - it should select and copy the text automatically. (if not, select the code, and hold CTRL and C to copy) 4. In your post, hold CTRL and V to paste the code in the area you want your picture to show up. The picture will show up when you post the file. Hope this helps! |

Hey, I think I figured it out. This is a closeup of the green striped bamboo in my garden. Thanks again for the help- |
RE: photo help

| cool !!! That bamboo is awesome. When I worked at the greenhouse this past Spring, I almost bought some non invasive bamboo but it was $80 |

| Unfortunately this stuff grows extremely fast and spreads like crazy. It's a pain in the butt to try and control. But it IS beautiful and I do love it. Especially the "clicking" noise it makes when the wind blows. |

| Are the stalks as big as they look in the picture? The center one looks about 3"--or were you really close? That's a neat picture! |
RE: photo help
| | |
| I was pretty close, but yes, the stalks really are that big. We have another kind of bamboo too, it's much thinner and all ,not nearly impressive as this. |
