question for the Travelers here.

this may be a dumb question, but here goes!!!

We have a Building. It used to be called a Hotel. It changed it's name to INN. It's still multi-storied with lots of rooms.

Sooo, how different would an Inn be from a hotel? Would one have different services?

The reason I ask, is because on one of the travel forums, a potenial visitor said that they didn't want to stay in an INN, but in a hotel. I said that in this case, there would be no difference, And then I got to thinking. Maybe there would be.

What I have noticed about hotel vs inn, is in the food service. A hotel generally has one or more restaurants but an inn has prepaid meals at specific times. Let's say breakfast from 7-9 am and there are few or any choices.
I much prefer a hotel that has both restaurants and room service.

Have to agree about the food service. To me that would define the difference

thanks, that sounds like a good reason

I'm glad that's what they said, because I agree. I actually got something right? And I don't even travel anymore.

:)

I agree, generally, but the term "hotel" or "inn" do not carry any assumed amenities regarding food or restaurants. Many inns are just motels.
