I've actually seen them offered for sale

but George is south of the house with a pitchfork breaking up dozens of them. Yesterday we had 60 mph winds all day and south of the house is absolutely packed with tumbleweeds. He call them Russian thistles but all I ever knew the as was tumbleweeds. Some people I guess spray paint them and use them for Christmas trees. Some of the big ones are almost tree size. He's got most of them broken down and I suppose they will wind up in compost. Wish it would snow, isn't that a weird thing to wish for but we really need a cover on the flower beds and the spinach sure could use a cover of snow.
