Charles Dickens A lovely thing about Christmas is that it's compulsory, like a thunderstorm, and we all go through it together. The excellence of a gift lies in its appropriateness rather than in its value. As dry leaves that before the wild hurricane fly, when they meet with an obstacle, mount to the sky. So up to the house-top the coursers they flew, with the sleigh full of toys, and St. Nicholas too.

| The Warner quote I lived just a few minutes ago. Went out to fill the birdfeeder and heard cranes. Out of the low clouds came two vees with about 50 birds each. They combined, circled 3 time and then broke up into two wings again and flew straight south. What a lovely Christmas present. |
