As I wandered, as I am wont to do, I discovered this cutie.

Both the tree and the pavers have been there a long time. I believe that the roots are winning.

I believe this is Pink Oleander.

Poinsettia growing like crazy in someone's yard.

Possibly nicotiania.

Marguerite daisies are endemic to Madeira; however, all I saw were white petals. This almost looks like it, but not really.

Maybe an Ice Plant.

This appears to be clover. It was in a cultivated bed near Ponta do Pargo. It was the only one blooming.

This might possibly be a variety of jasmine.

Not sure, might be a Dragon Tree.

Last one, I promise. This looks like the flower on my Spiderwort. However my plant has only three petals. And the foliage is different.

I spent a long time online attempting to identify lots of these things and became frustrated when I got nowhere.

Lots more pictures, but this will have to do for now.

The flowers are beautiful, but i especially like the church on top of the hill. Perhaps it was built there to be closer to Heaven.

Keep the pictures coming, Jim. Everything around here is ice-covered, this morning, so the flowers are a promise of things to come for us.

There's another interesting church in this photo. This was taken from the same point as the church at the top. All I did was turn around.

Love your flower pictures. I think picture no. 4 is a crocosmia (garden montbretia). I had one once and it looks like it.
I showed your Funchal pictures to a friend of my husband who was working there from 1975 to 77. He said the city has grown 4 times as big as when he lived there.

that "clover" looks suspiciously like Scabiosa 'Ace of Spades'.

The thing about the 'clover' or whatever is that the stem is tall and it was the only one in the bed.

I like symmetry. This flower has it.

The thing about Scabiosa is, the foliage can get buried easily. It might be clover, it might not. But it's very pretty!

Interesting place, wonderful photos. The flowers are so nice, very special when looked at in winter here.
